Blueboy Business specialises in film, video and photographic products. Director Mark Warren graduated from one of the two major film schools in Australia, the Swinburne School of Film and Television with a BA in Film and Television. This course later merged with the Victorian College of the Arts under the auspice of The University of Melbourne. 

 

Blueboy Video Production offers advice and services across the creation chain from concept to final deliverables. Crews are drawn from the most creative freelancers who have worked in broadcast film and television on dramas, comedies, news and current affairs, reality shows, music videos, concerts, online courses, website creation and feature films. Mark has worked mainly as a self-employed producer, writer, director, cinematographer, special effects artist and film editor, also as a full-time employee for Crawford Productions, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (Channel 2) and Monash University.

 

Blueboy Fine Art Photography is an ongoing collection of creative, abstract images, photographed by Mark. He started experimenting in his hometown of Melbourne in 2011 with photographic abstract techniques with reflections of the Yarra River. Since then, when travelling, Mark has collected a portfolio of shots from major waterways around the world. He now needs to re-visit all the many cities he saw before 2011 to add them as well. The current catalogue has more than 30,000 shots. It is the result of thousands of kilometres of walking late at night in all manner of weather conditions, cold, hot, Yokohama rainstorms, spookily deserted major cities, walking past the Kremlin in Moscow with his gear after midnight with not a soul around.

All shots are straight out of the camera with no digital creation or fabrication. Some nights it's a success to capture just one good photograph.

Mark is fascinated by the water and the light, or put another way, the water and the spirit. Only in the last 2 years did he fully realise exactly why he had been drawn so passionately to this subject matter.

Blueboy Business is named in memoriam of a best friend who was a lawyer, a cartoonist; and the creator of a quirky poem titled 'Blueboy', who tragically passed away. He was extremely bright, funny, sensitive, and always very supportive. One of his cartoons is the logo of Blueboy Business.
